Tulips in December

Only in flower shops and greenhouses will you find tulips in December. I believe they generally start growing in Spring and bloom then until early Summer.

There is a thing about flowers in Flower shops that I find odd. They are all so perfectly "the same" and all so beautiful -- just cut at the right time -- quite different from the diversity you will find in a bed of roses, or any flower, for that matter.

I like to see a bud, before its promise is about to become, alongside all those at various stages of becoming what they were meant to be. And, having seen the beauty of such a flower, even its demise, -- once its role in the life cycle is done -- is worth watching. You remember what once was....

Thanks Wilmack. I joined Flower Power, because of you.

PJP: A Happy New Year to you too. Thanks for visiting.

moemoechi: Yeah, I always like the simplicity of the tulip. When I get a good macro lens, I will try to explore it more.

AnaB: Thanks for visiting. I am glad you like it.

I cannot fully compose this shot because of the constraint of the flower shop in the supermarket, this section of the flower shop -- where they kept their more delicate flowers and displays -- was just a small glass encased section only slightly larger than our bathroom. And, with all the price tags, that I did not want to reveal, the composition was constrained.
